In 2025, the Hispanic Business Student Association at Texas State University traveled to Seattle, where members engaged with business leaders at BDO, Starbucks, Seattle Mariners, and Amazon! Students had the chance to network directly with Hispanic professionals, learning from their career experiences and insights into leadership within global companies. This trip provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen alumni connections, explore diverse industries, and represent McCoy College in one of the South’s key business hubs.

Event Highlights: HBSA Corporate Trip to Seattle

Meeting with BDO!
Our first professional stop in Atlanta was at BDO, where HBSA members had the chance to gain insights from top professionals at one of the world’s leading accounting and consulting firms. The group discussed career paths in finance, audit, and consulting and learned about BDO's commitment to diversity in the workplace. The experience inspired students with firsthand stories of how BDO's professionals navigate the industry.

Networking Session with Javier Saade
In the evening, HBSA hosted a networking session featuring Javier Saade. This informal gathering allowed students to discuss career development and leadership in a relaxed setting while strengthening ties within the Texas State community.

Tour and Meeting at Amazon
On the following day, the HBSA group visited Amazon, where they toured the corporate office, met with management, toured the Spheres, and checked out their new employee-free shop!. The session provided insight into the operational aspects of Amazon's global business, from supply chain logistics to business relations, highlighting the many career opportunities in corporate service industries!

Closing Ceremony and Reflection
HBSA concluded the trip with a closing ceremony where members reflected on their transformative experiences, new insights, and career inspirations gained throughout their time in Seattle.

Gameday at T-Mobile Park!
A trip highlight was attending the game at T-Mobile Park to see the Mariners face off against the Texas Rangers! After our closing ceremony, the group was able to enjoy each other's company at the game and watch a game while being featured on the jumbotron!
